When you split an xvid video file you must cut on a key frame.
AVI_IO captures to segmented files to overcome the 2GB/4GB maximum size of avi files on a Windows 98 formatted disc.
I think you can open the first avi file in virtualdub and it will automatically add all the other files to the video. Then you can use "mark in" and "mark out" on key frames and use "save as" to new splitted files. Make sure that you have selected direct stream copy for both video and audio before saving to a new file.Ronny -
What ronnylov says is absolutely correct but I would suggest one more thing. As AV_IO only captures uncompressed audio it might be a good idea to compress the audio (mp3 etc) whilst you are in Virtualdub. You will end up with a much smaller file and you might be able to get it on 2 cd's as opposed to 3 (I assume that's what you're after with your 700mb file splits?)
