I have just finished backing up my dvd collection to DVDR and have noticed that some movies have errors in them. Nothing too severe, just some artifacts or sound glitches. However I would like to find out exactly which movies have these errors and which ones dont (there are over 100 movies done). I tried using DVD Info Pro, but that is a little too indepth I think as movies that play fine still report errors. Is there another program that perhaps analyses the video or sound and can report on any errors encountered?
Im using a Sony DRU510A with firmware1.0d and Ritek G04 discs.
Is it normal to encounter errors in backups. I understand the principle behind dyed vs pressed discs etc, but are there ways to reduce the chance of errors? I dont burn over 4.1gig.
Thanks!

I wouldn't be concerned about the size of your burns, if you're using Ritek G04's that is a non-issue.
I'd make sure your Sony was up-to-date, but beyond that are you sure it's not dust or your player or something? Try playing the discs in another player or in your computer.
There is a lot of troubleshooting we can do, but sadly in terms of identifying WHICH movies have been glitched in this manner, it's gonna require... watching 'em.
