I'm recording an entire home video from VHS through the DVC150.
I usually use MovieStar and cut out each individual "scene" from the tape and encode it. Then I reopen the video file imported from the VHS and cut the next scene out and encode it... and so on.
Is there a program out there that will let me go through the entire file and cut it into separate pieces then have it encode each piece as a separate file and go through them all right after eachother like in a queue?
When I'm done everything will be going to DVDR.

Yes there are two good program to use MPEG2VCR http://www.womble.com/ and TMPG http://www.tmpgenc.net/ . Use MPEG2VCR and if there a cutting problem then use TMPG

It looks like that program will allow me to edit the different scenes from the file much faster than MovieStar since there is no need to re-encode the file so thanks for that!
But... do you know if this program, or another, would allow me to basicly set the scene starts and ends through-out the entire file all at once, then have it go through the entire file automatically, all at once, saving each scene that I specified to a separate file?
If not then MPEG-VCR will work much better than MovieStar so thanks again! -
