  1. Well my kid and dog destroyed an original DVD of mine. Previosuly I created an archive copy of it with DVD XCopy. Is there any way to create a second archive from the original archive disk?

  3. I'm assuming that you split the DVD onto two discs with dvdxcopy. Download DVD Decryptor, image both discs, and burn it onto a new disc.

    Hehe.

This is a common misconception. There is NO protection on DVD XCopy backups.

    None.

    Zero.

    Zilch.

    Nada.

The proviso here is that DVD XCopy itself realizes that you're trying to backup a backup, and won't let you.

Just put the disc in the reader, put a blank in the burner, fire up Nero, EZ-Coaster-Creator, or whatever burning proggy came with your drive, and hit "copy".

Wait 20 minutes, and repeat for the second disc.

Pretty simple, huh? We ought to sticky a post with the title "protection on DVD XCopy backups?" and this information.

  5. Thanks for the tip. However Nero complains there is not enough space on the destination disk to perform the copy. Any ideas?

The one I am working with right now has less than 4GB in use on the original Archive disk.

DVDShrink makes excellant copies of backups. Your compression is always 100%. Basically it's ripping the whole disk for you. You can use DVDDecryptor in ISO mode and do the same thing.
