I have Men In Black II and my grandsons love an extra called "Chub Chub". I explored the DVD (can you tell I'm new at this?) but I have no idea which one of the many .vob files I need to rip. I would appreciate it if someone could share this secret. I just want this one feature so I can put it on a DVD so that they can put it in whenever they want and are not playing with my good disk. Thanks.

Doesn't DVD Shrink let you explore the disk, or is that the program you're talking about?

I was just referring to "Explorer" in Windows. It listed a bunch of .ifo files, .vob_ts file, .vob files, etc. But, of course there was no identification names associated with them...just numbers. Would DVD Shrink actually identify the .vob file names?

  4. You can see in DVD Shrink where the "Chup Chup"-part is and then just use the re-author option. You can then drag and drop that "Chup Chup"-part to re-author-screen and hit backup-button. Then it will do new vob's ifo's etc which only contains that "Chup Chup"-part... 8)

It's me again. I downloaded DVDShrink. It is a fantastic utility/program. I got what I wanted...I 'backedup' the particular segment that I wanted to my hard drive. I ended up with 5 files: Video_ts.bup, video_ts.ifo, Vts_01_0.bup, Vts_01-0.ifo and vts_01_1.vob. I loaded the .vob file into Vegas 4 and got the video file but no sound. How do I get a sound file (either a .wav or .ac3 format) from the remaining files? Thanks again. I really do appreciate your help.

I do not know about Vegas 4, but have you tried Virtual Dub mod?

  8. You could also use VobEdit. Just load the VTS_01_1.VOB and select "Demux". Then just select "Demux all Video streams" and "Demux all Audio streams"... 8)

Did you 'backup' that segment or 'reauthor' first and then backup? The sound should already be there. Use PowerDVD or WinDVD to play the files and see if there's audio. If there is you can just burn it to a DVD with any burn program (Nero, Instant Copy, etc).

You did not need the Vegas step. Just isolate the desired
segment with Shrink. Pick the title you want and use Start/End
to get the exact part you want and do Backup. You will have a complete
DVD file set which you can burn.
