When I open my captured file in V-Dub to inverse telecine, can I save it through the Huffyuv compression? If I don't use any compression, then the resulting .avi file is 4x as big.
The heart of my question is, am I losing quality by applying a compression to a file that was captured with compression? (Both Huffyuv)
The resulting file will eventually be run through TMPEG to make a VCD so the fewest compression steps...the better.

i believe it is possible to frame serve to tmpg instead of re-compressing.

But is what I'm describing the right way to do it?
Recompress with the same codec? -
...and besides, I've got enough on my plate just trying to figure out the best way to make a decent VCD. I've got enough test CD's laying around that would make the AOL marketing director jealous.
My brain would explode trying to figure out how to frame serve straight to TMPEG
