My 106 has suddenly become a read at 6x and write at 1x.It was working fine then when i went to burn another disc it wouldn't write any faster than 1x. Ive used nero info tool and it tells me that it is a 106d but the read/write speeds are as above. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your DMA settings to see if they have changed. Control panel>System>hardware>Device manager>IDE controllers>Primary or Secondary>Properties>Advanced.
