If you cannot click the "System (Video+Audio)" button, then I suggest you uninstall it and reinstall it.

You should be able to select whichever button you like after loading one of the templates.

Are you using the project wizard?

If yes, then you need to select your input first, before your template. In the 5th window make sure to unselect "output video and audio as individual elemantery streams."

If no, then you can select your input or "load" your template in any order.

I just realized you're using the wizard. As suggested, if you can't uncheck it then try a re-install.

TMPGEnc is an mpeg encoder, it will output either an mpeg (video and audio combined) or M2V and MP2 (elementary video and audio mpeg streams). In order to burn to a DVD these files need to be "authored" first then burned, you can input either the mpeg or the individual streams into your authoring program. Click on the "Author" link over there <-<-<-.

The lines you see are interlacing from your video capture and should disappear on playback on your TV.

    1. To Author to DVD, you need an authoring program (makes sense right ) I have tried several, and now use DVD-Lab, give it a shot, it is free for 30 days and then only $80 to register. The output rivals Ulead and Sonic products at 8X the price.

    2. That depends on how you encoded it with TMPGEnc. If you are going to DVD, try the DVD template of the Half-D1 template. Some good templates can be had at www.kvcd.net

If set correctly, the MPEG file created with TMPGEnc can be just as good as the input file.

wow, we need lots of information before we answer that....

Are you in PAL or NTSC land?

    How many clips were used?

Were they all the same video resolution?

Was the audio all the same format and bitrate?

Are you using a DVDR or RW?

    + or - media?

Have you checked that your stand alone player can handle your media?

If you cannot click the "System (Video+Audio)" button then click on 'Load', then double click on the 'Extra' folder and double-click on 'unlock'.

I came across that effect once...

I am in NTSC land, a friend in Britain ICQed me a DivX file, I converted it with TMPGEnc and the playback was the same.

It turned out to have something to do with the Interlacing, because I re-encoded the original file and Deinterlaced it. The result played perfectly.
