  1. I have tried over 3 times to get a reply to this topic, but so far no luck.
    Anyhow, one last time:
    1. I have Winamp visualizations which I captured using CamStudio
    2. They are saved as AVIs
    3. They have no audio

Now I want to syncronize the video with an MP3
Using both MainConcept Encoder and EVE (Easy Video Editor) I get really choppy videos in the same parts.

I really like EVE because there is a timeline on it (similar to Flash)

PLEASE help! Any configurations or even hardware changes?

    This is my hardware:
    NIVIDA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
    Pentium 4 @ 1.6 Ghz
    512 Mb Ram
    8 GB free space

If you have any additional questions please ask! I really need help!

You may like EVE but it might be that it doesn't like you (or the task you are asking it to do anyway). Have you tried different editing software? Even Windows Movie Maker 2 has a timeline.....

I'm not sure I can help much, but I do have a question or two. I understand you are trying to play a MP3 with visualizations. In what final format? DVD? MP3 is compatible with AVI or probably MPG format? I could see it working with AC3 or MP2 audio. Choppy video is a common problem and there are quite a few threads here concerning solutions.

  4. Hmmm... I'll try WMM2 - thanks for the suggestion
I'm scared it will still be choppy (since both my MC Mpeg encoder and EVE both had same results) but ill try

    As for the second response...
The final format will be MPEG-2. Easy Video Editor will automatically encode the AVI w/ MP3 to MPEG-2 (I am making a DVD). The program must automatically encode the MP3 to AC3 or MP2.

    Thanks for the replies!

  5. I tried to test for bad frames... didnt work

It even is choppy when I preview it before I encode.

    Any other suggestions?

Sounds like maybe your field order is wrong. Did you try to encode with bottom and top field firsts. Also did you try to actually encode the video and play it on your dvd player.

Have you played the raw video and make sure you haven't dropped alot of frames durring capture?

I never really tried "EXACTLY" what your trying to do, but if you just grab a bunch of AVI's paist them all together and add sound it plays just fine normally. It will be jumpy and jerky if frames are missing of course or if you have alot of jumps and jerks in your transitions from one clip to another.

  8. No, the raw avi plays just fine- smooth as silk.
Also ran a "bad frames" test- it said everything was normal

Try a test with video only in Mainconcept.

If the video plays fine with no jerkiness, then it's the mp3s that are giving you a problem. I would sugest you use an audio editor and convert the mp3s to a 48,000 hz wav file before you import them into your video editor.

  10. Thanks for the suggestion- output video runs perfectly fine without audio. Ill try to convert the MP3.

I really want to keep it compressed- perhaps AC3 or MP2 might work, but so far I have been unsuccesful in encoding these formats

    Thanks again

  11. I'm thinking that maybe its my system causing the choppyness (I don't know why its a pretty good comp). Anyhow, could someone test this video to see if it is choppy on your setup also? The file is here:

It's all choppy and the color is in black and white. Halfway thru there is what looks like a cartoon of daffy duck for like 5 seonds. Weird.

  16. That is really werid...

    especially the daffy duck part...

The video should be kind of a light blue visualization and black background

I just bought some DVD+RW's and burned the video onto a DVD

    Still choppy

Why me? Anyone have any more suggestions?

  17. OK OK OK I think I got it
It works when I first take the AVI and convert it to MPEG1 (vcd level compression). Then I open it in EVE and add the sound- no more choppy!

I think the large AVI file was causing a data overflow- thus the chippyness

    Thanks everyone who made suggestions

    no more choppy!

    no more choppy!

    no more choppy!!!

Sorry im just a bit excited
