  1. What software can I use to take my captured mpeg-2 files and edit out sections of it from a frame timeline? Right now I have a software called Screenblast Movie Studio 3.0 which is exactly what I want. Unfortunately if you have to edit it it requires re-rendering the entire mpeg-2 file which can take upwards of 2 hours. Is there any software that I can just use to edit out sections without re-rendering?

I have an ATI AIW card I capture from then DVD Shrink (if needed) and finally TMPGENC to do the menu and burning.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  2. There are lots of programs that do this. I usually use TMPGEnc DVD Author to do basic editing because I use it as my authoring program. I don't know if there are any free programs out there with this capability, but it would be worth looking into. TMPGEnc DVD Author has a fully functional trial if you want to give it a shot.

  3. How do I highlight and remove sections in TMPGEnc Authoring? All I can do is remove the beginning frames or the end frames.

  4. To cut something out, set the start frame as the first frame of the section you want to cut out. Set the end frame as the last frame you want to cut out. Click cut and the prog will cut out that section and the transition from before the cut to after will be smooth like butter.

    Search Comp PM
Or you can get a fully working 10 day demo of mpeg-vcr and use that.
