    ok ive just got my advc 100 and have used click to dvd to capture it but it doesnt save the DV , whats the best software that will capture and save the DV output from the canopus and allow me to save the file??

  2. I don't have a canopus, but you can try WinDV.

    i also recently started up my canopus ADVC-100. i d/l DVIO from the tools section and it works great! i haven't authored any DVD's yet, so i can't tell you anything about quality, but i had 0 dropped frames.

  4. WinDV works great for me with Win98SE and my ADVC-100.
    Many of the DVD creation packages I have tried either could not deal with the 4 Gig limit of 98SE or created multiple sequential files that needed to be run through the Canopus DV File Converter s/w in order to work with the DVD authoring S/W I own. With WinDV, the files are captured as sequentially numbered files to the location I choose, and with Pinnacle Express I'm able to use the captured files directly and create excellent DVD's of my old home movies with menu's and full MP3 music in the Menu background. The Express editing tools are easy to use and alow you string the file segments seamlessly during the transcoding process. A very low low cost way to go with excellent results. If you have Win 2000 or XP, the 4Gig limit is a non-issue. So don't disregard the capture tools that already comes with most DVD authoring S/W.

    im getting there slowly...used windows moviemaker to capture the DV which created an AVI file.... then i used TMPG to convert it to mpeg2 for DVD which created a VIDEO_TS file and an AUDIO_TS file, does anybody know how to uncheck the box in tmpg so the audio and video are in the same TS file???
