  1. Hello all,
I have been looking around here and learning how to compress my digital camera videos, which come out in MPEG1 video and mp2 sound, to make them about a third of the size and 90% the quality using DIVX or XVID (I think IŽll stick with DIVX seeing as how XVID isnŽt 1.0 yet).
However, sound in VD is giving me problems. I would like to use the LAME MP3 codec or the OGG codec to make my videos, and neither are in the list of possible audio compression formats in VD. I have installed these codecs but they do not appear in that list.
I have extracted the audio to WAV and then converted it to both MP3 and OGG files. Perhaps there is some way to join these files with the video to create an .avi.
Thanks for all help, please ask if you need any more information to help me

  3. OK, I got that program and stuck it in. I also found out how to install the Lame mp3 codec. It would be nice if somewhere in these codecs they mentioned "extract to system32" so that I would know what to do . Somehow IŽd gotten

However, IŽve found that with that codec I canŽt do 44100 64kbps Sterio. Look below and youŽll see it only offers me mono below 128kbps. Any idea why this might be?

IŽve also found that it is definitely possible to have this:

Furthermore, why is it that I have 6 ogg vorbis codecs there which are all exactly the same in the end. And how come when I encode an avi using ogg, the file crashes BS Player and Windows Media Player??

    Thanks for your help =)
