Hi
I have downloaded an episode of 24 and when I attempted to convert/burn it nothing happens. I can't get anything to run it on my pc either. It has the following: 24.302.pdtv-lol.[BT] as its title. It says it's an AVI file but nothing can open it. I've used a codec finder to check what type of file it is but it doesn't recognise it.
Any ideas?

What you have is a bit torrent file. This file more then likely was a bootlegged movie stored on an IRC site and encoded using Bittorrent software.
Discussion of this type comes close to WAREZ. -
This most certainly not belong in WAREZ. Ripping Broadcast television is not in any way (yet) illegal. If you have finished downloading the full file then it is not a torrent anymore, if that is, in fact the process you used to download it. Anyway lol.[BT] is referring to the group that encoded it. their stuff is very good. I believe the pdtv you see should be hdtv, meaning it was pulled from a hdtv broadcast. I watch them all the time (smallville) They are encoded in DivX, or Xvid. you need to install the codecs. Install both Divx and Xvid (can't hurt) then you will be able to watch your show.-rob
