Ok, I've been reading here for a few years now. This summer I built a new computer for video from scratch (Pent 4, XP 2 HDs, etc.), then I bought the Canopus ADVC - 100. I got Studio 8 shortly after, forked out for Canopus Procoder a month ago (as I was not happy with TMPgnc's audio quality, and could not get srcc or TOOLame to work within the free trial verion of Tmp.). I made a 10min. clip from a Laser Disc, encoded it with Procoder at the Mastering Quality setting for finest quality.

Then tonight I bough the newest version of Nero, Nero 6 Ultra Edition. While I have used the old 5 version of Nero, this is different, and I can't seem to get it to burn my mp2 clip. It says that file type in not supported. Nero wants to re-encode my beautiful file I spent big bucks to make. It is already made into a DVD file, so I need not encode at this point right? But when I have gotten it to burn, it begins to encode to my hard drive. So it is attempting to re-encode my mp2 file, when it need not be done.

Do I need to buy an authoring program, and use Nero to burn my finished authored product? But not use Nero to burn mp2 files made with one of the most expensive encoders out there?

I really tried to read up, and read up and learn. But I have hit the end of the road now.

Please help me burn my files encoded with Procoder. Even if it means buying yet another program. I just want top quality for my DVDs and I am willing to pay for it. I did try RecordNow Max and found out after spending 79.99 that it does not support my LG 4040B DVD writer. The Stomp site has a list of supported writers, but it has not been updated since Dec. of 2001.

So I sprang for the Nero 6 in box for $100. Yet I still can't figure out why it will not accept my mp2 file.

Thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction.

Jeff
