Basically I want to know the answer to the simple question (I'm assuming) of setting up your DVD player, Wide-screen, etc to play the way you want.

For example...I want to be able to play anamorphic/enhanced for wide-screen DVD's on my widescreen screen and have it play full on the display. There seems to be a gimmick or trick to it that I'm missing to have it work properly every time. Something like recognizing aspects of the particular DVD copy, changing things in "Set-up," and maybe using the zoom button...I guess. Shouldn't every anamorphic/WS enhanced just play properly though? How do I sort of figure this out so I can get it to run full screen in the best resolution possible every time?

In further detail...I'm trying this out on an Initial 1731 portable that obviously has a widescreen...screen. Like I tried "Ghost in the Shell"...and it played brilliantly. However, now I've tried some others like "Leon:The Professional" and it either plays 4:3, or with the black bars on top and button unless I hit the zoom button once, or some variation.

I'm losing resolution when I hit the zoom button though, right? Is there something I'm missing about all this?
