Umph. This maybe tough but honestly one of the things I would try is using Disc Dump (dunno where the page is now but I have some old version that works only in Win98). It has some error recovery function in it and it will tell you what sectors are bad and so in log file.
Also try getting a Scratch doctor. This thing really helped me with some stuff (but also when I was detaching a CD once it cracked so just be careful).
I really hope this helps.
Another tip: I find that CDRs are really scratch contagious (like white on rice I believe is the saying). I know it's expensive and stupid but I would always make 2 backups (it sounds sick (making every CD twice) but it's the best thing I found so far). One on bad cd one on good brand CD (Verbatim for example or CompUSA generic, other on Sony or TDK (these are the best for me).
EDIT as always:
To use disc dump; set it to standard mode (just set it there) and this will generate an ISO with a CUE file. Then you can probably use ISO buster or even try burning it and then extract from new CD.
Try to get the full healthy ISO first and then it should be easy to deal with. -
heck, cd's aint expensive anymore. A dime a piece and alot of times they are free after rebate. Nobody should pay more than $10.00 per 50 pack. And also some are free after a $10.00 dollar rebate, soooooo burn awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Heck, office max has free DVD after rebate coming this black Friday, so shop early and shop often and make sure u get your neighbors address and use ur work address for those rebates to be sent to as its only one per person.
