Ok heres the deal:
I recently captured a visualization playing in WINAMP. It is currently saved as an AVI.
I want to make this into an MPEG1 for burning, but I dont want to lose sound quality.
Should I convert to MPEG then add MP3? (If so I need a program to syncronize the MP3 and video).
Or should I add the MP3 to the AVI then convert to MPEG? (If so then will I lose audio quality?).
Thanks for any reply...

Are you making a VCD?

Im making a DVD but I want it in MPEG1. I am using DVDit so it will convert the MPEG1s to be viewable as a DVD.
The visualization dosn't have audio- I am going to add it in and sync with the visualization.
Get my drift?
By the way I tried using VirtualDub but as far as I can see there is no way to sync the audio (a seperate MP3 file) and video. Also, it wants to use WAVs and WAVs suck big time.

I read your other post so I know what you're attempting.
I almost tried this myself but I found a copy that someone else had made. Here's what I would do:
Get your audio in wav format, load it into an audio editting program like Goldwave, join it and manipulate it the way you like. Use Virtualdub to load the video, load the wav audio (wav audio command), play it within Vdub to check the sync. Go back and edit the audio 'til it's right. No need to save an avi with the wav audio, BTW.
Feed the video to TMPGEnc, feed the mpeg and the wav to your DVD authoring program, burn and enjoy."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
Thank you I will try this. I also may be able to use EVE (Easy Video Editor) which would make things MUCH easier. This program will let me use MP3s and there is a timeline (similar to Flash) for syncing. Only problem is the video gets choppy after adding in that MP3. I know you may not be familiar with this program, but perhaps there are some generic settings which I could fiddle with to smooth it out? By the way I just posted a new topic seconds ago about EVE. Thanks
