  1. Hello, I had some problems with encoding audio to MP2 to be used with Sizzle.

I have a .vob containing a .ac3 stream. Since I want to join the stream with another one and this can only be done with .mpg (see my previous post about join function) I encoded in .MP2. Join just worked ok, but Sizzle report no audio in the .mpg I get (though there is obviuosly since QuicktimePlayer plays it...)
May be I mistake some audio formats.

So I tried to convert my joined.mpg to .AC3. But FFmpegX alerts me the joined.mpg isn't a valid .mpg Tried with the .mpg obtained directly from the .vob (.MP2 encoding). Same Alert.
Seems that FFmpegX doesn't recognize file encoded in .MP2 using FFmpegX. odd.

I finally got around the problem :

Once I got the joined.mpg (no video Audio encoded .MP2) I opened it with itune. Then converted it to MP3 (advanced). Then FFmpegX converted it to .AC3. Sizzl then accept to use the file... OUF
Not a very good quality but works.

And now I have the joined.m2v and .AC3 to make the DVD I projected to author with Sizzle.

Still have to work on sound synchro, I think I didn't choose the correct settings while encoding video.

  2. You should first demux the joined.mpg file and work separately on the elementary video and audio streams.

Why you need to join? You could also author multiple VOBs into a single DVD.

  3. In fact, I am trying to recover a damaged DVD. I managed to get the .vob from the DVD that wasn't recognized by any DVD player (even on my MAC).
So I think to use sizzle to authorize the streams of the movie and one of the bonus that I saved (only one too bad).
I am also a newby to DVD authoring. My next project is on 8mm film my father made in antartica (French austral expedition 1956-57) and this is a way to learn.

  4. Best would be to demux your VOBs and use DVD Studio Pro to reassemble.
