  1. I've been running Nero 6 on my PC with no problems whatsoever for several months now, burning DVDs and CDs. Last week, I installed a Leadtek Winfast TV capture card and ever since Nero has been causing me no end of headaches - every HP branded DVD I've put in has refused to record at all; it just fails after writing the lead in, and the Ritek 4x discs I've been using for several months, while still burning fine, are taking twice as long to do so.

It burns CDs just fine and plays back DVDs with no problems whatsoever.

The way I see it the problem is one or more of the following:

    1. my DVD burner is on its way out
    2. There's a driver conflict with the new capture card
    3. all my blank DVDs have become damaged (I'm about to go out and try a new one just to be sure). This isn't as unlikely as it sounds as I realised just this morning that the shelf they're sitting on is directly above a radiator and the central heating came on for the first time, yes, last week.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? More importantly, does anyone have a clue how I might fix this?

Never had this problem, but you could do a little bit of elementary troubleshooting by uninstalling your TV capture card and its software. If your problems go away, you have eliminated 1. and 3, and your problem is 2.

If your problems don't go away, try the new media to test for number 3. If your problem persists with your new media, then number 1 is your cause.

If the problem goes away with the new media, but persists with the old, then 3 is your cause.
