  1. I tried to open an .avi file with VirtualDub and I get an error that VirtualDub cannot determine what type of format the file is. So I open the file with the Gspot program and it determines the .avi is in a DivX format. But yet VirtualDub cannot open the file...

I tried opening the even in TMPGenc and I get an error when i try to encode the file with TMPGenc.

Can ayone suggest what I can do to fix the file so that eithet TMPGenc or VirtualDub can open the file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did Gspot say if you had both the audio and video codecs installed?

  3. It said that the video codec was installed, but the audio codec was not installed.

The audio codec it detected was: ogg_vorbis_1 (0x674f) Ogg Vorbis

What's odd is that I installed both DirectShow Subtitle filter and DirectShow Ogg Vorbis filter collection and yet it still states that the audio codec is not installed.

Is there another Ogg Vorbis codec i need to install?
