I got the movies Anatasia and Hudson Hawk on DVD. They seem to offer both fullscreen and widescreen on the same DVD. How is this possible? Are there two movies on the same disc or some type of software built into the DVD that converts the widescreen into fullscreen?

You should ask this question on the DVD forum....this is the OFF TOPIC forum.
The answer to your question though is that numerous DVD's are like this...you'll mainly see this with animated films....such as Pixar's studios amazing films like Monster's Inc., A BUG's LIFE...etc. They could of done it with Finding Nemo as well but they decided to add a ton of extras and do it as a two disk set.
On a Bug's Life..Pixar actually repositioned the bugs/animals so that they'd have more of a widescreen affect. Meaning..if a bug was outside the screen when it was stretched to 4:3 .....they'd position it in..so that you could see what they wanted you to see..just as with the widescreen version.
This is why I think the full screen version of A BUG's LIFE was better then the wide...especially because it's an animated movie...at any rate...I don't know of too many other movies where the studios actually repositioned things....usually it's just stretched and you miss a ton of what the directors wanted you to see. Charlies Angels Full Throttle Full Screen is a perfect example....that movie is a terrible full screen movie....terrible....
but back to your question..many movies are like this..and almost always there is a seperate vob set for each version and on the menu you have to choose which version you want to watch..and the button you pick directs the movie to its respective vob set. -
I have a double sided version of Air Force One. Each side is dvd5 and either 16:9 or 4:3.

I have the same version. I watch the widescreen version on my 32 inch TV and the full screen version on my little 19 inch TV in my bedroom.

In a nutshell when you select from the menu wheter you'd like full or widescreen, the DVD points your player the the vob files that coresponds with the aspect ratio you chose. So basically the movie is on the DVD twice, but in two different aspect ratios.
