  1. I read it on a Chinese manufactures website. Besides, if I took one of my uncles EVDs and put in into a DVD-ROM drive it wouldn't read. EVD players are backwards compatable because they include DVD Hardware as well. But eventually if EVD takes off they will remove DVD support to keep prices cheap. But that really only effects Chinese people as thats how EVD was designed for anyways.

    Thanks,

TGPO's link didn't work for my browser, just got the Excite "can't find" page.

Apologies in advance, for being a nit-picky "weenie", but I believe it to be the case that they can't sell to you, not that they won't. I believe they would love to take your money. Especially if it made you want to buy an iPod!!!

I believe that Apple initially only got permission to sell music for 1-year, and only in North America (USA only? Credit card with an American billing address?). Since the iTMS has been so successful, they seem to be in a stronger position to expand the duration and scope of their sales.

I enjoyed the rest of your post, and your other posts, on this subject. You make some very good points.

Good point. I hadn't thought of it in that way. I was stuck in the "why should I replace my existing burner and player?" mode - and hadn't thought of it in that way. As always, though, it is tough to share a new format with others - because they have to get new players, too.
