    I want to convert a .mov file to dvd or vcd but cant do
    How should I go about this?

    TMPGEnc with the TMPGEnc Mov Plugin.

    i believe mainconcept mpeg encoder has a built in plugin.. i converted a short film that rules with it. came out great (did it fast too)

    I too use MainConcept. You can also use Procoder and Vegas Video as well.
