  1. Hello

I have a Dynalink BT878 based capture card which has just been transfered to my new shiney PC. In my old PC capturing above 320x240 wasn't possible due to dropped frames. Now frames are OK but video quality is very bad!! Usually associated with motion, thin black horizontal lines cover the screen but only while capturing.

I have used most of the video capture programmes listed in this site and tried 3rd party BT chip drivers as well without luck.

I have been told it may be a PCI latency problem and to try to swap the card thru the available slots. Didn't work.

Has anyone got any suggestions?? or even proof that this level of card is even capable of 704x576 capture.

    Thanks

How old is the card? May be too old and time for an upgrade.

  3. Card was bought in 99.

Is there any different variations on the bt878 chip??.

I thought there were several trillion of them out there just like (or similar) to mine.

I guess I'm working on the theory it should be possible with my hardware unless something isn't setup right.

    cheers

  4. Mate,

Just a guess, I think that's what's called interlacing. Only analog capturing give interlacing. Digital display are progressive. You may need to look into interlacing a bit further.

    Cheers,
