Pinnacle Studio 8 "Incorrect media" error

I am trying to burn a DVD using Pinnacle Studio 8 ver. 8.10.4.0 but I get the following error..."Incorrect disc media type, please insert a correct media". My "Make Disc" settings are...

Output format: DVD
Burn options: Burn directly to disc
Video quality/disc usage: Most video on disc (also tried Automatic - same results)
Media and device options...
Media: DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW
Disc writer device: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D

Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this problem? I've used my DVD burner several times already using Sonic MyDVD w/o problem. Also tried a few blank DVD's with this, but I get the same result. I'm using Verbatum -R discs. TIA!

Just noticed your Post, I am also using studio 8 and came across the same problem with the same DVD-R`s. I bought a brand new pack of verbatum DVD`s and all is OK? The only thing I did notice between the two packs was that the new pack was dated 2003 and my original pack was 2002, despite me only ordering them a month apart. I have no idea what the difference is but I`ve had no problems since.

Burn options: Burn directly to disc

I would suggest that you create the disk on your hard drive first and then burn the disk from previously created content. I have had Studio give an error while trying to burn and then erase the files it created- meaning I had to go though the 6 hours of encoding again.
