I own a lvd-2001 and it can play divx and xvid but it can't play .ogg filles.
I would like to convert all my .ogg files to either xvid or divx so that it can play them. It doesn't really matter which although my personal preference is xvid.

I've been told that the video in my .ogg files is xvid already. But the audio is ogg vorbis. Since this is the case wouldn't it be possible to demux the audio and video, convert the audio to mp3 then remux the audio and video?

The video also contains subtitles. I've been told that the .ogg format can support subtitles that aren't encoded into the video. I'm not sure if this is the case but how would i check and if it were what problems would it pose the re-encoding process? I would guess that the player just looks for a .srt file but i couild be wrong.

If that isn't possible then what program is suggested for re-encode to divx/xvid?

TIA!
