Quick Question with TMPGEnc and Sefy's guide

Hi, all
I'm a newbie and I've read about converting from DVD to VCD using Sefy's Guide.

I'm at the step where you use TMPGEnc.

Is it OK if I do something else (surf web and looking at Email) while its converting from DVD to VCD?

Will it affect the picture or sound quality?

OR should I leave my PC alone for 6 hours?

My system is:
PIII 1Ghz (100Mhz FSB)
Abit BF6 (BX-chipset)
384MB SDRAM PC133
Windows 2000 Pro

I think the only problem you'll run into, from my experience, is that it takes longer.
