I just made my first DVD with footage from my new Canon Optura 20 minidv camera. It is a short 7 minute clip of my 3 year old daughter riding her bike. I am using Pinnacle Studio 8 SE to capture, edit, author and burn on a FujiFilm DVD+RW. Everything went smooth no problems all the way through. Plays like a champ on my computer. When I put it in my Philips 726 DVD player it loads, recognizes that it is a DVD, and puts up the menu I put on it. When I select a scene to play I just get a blank screen and no sound. The timer is going like it is playing but I get nothing.

I have made back-ups of my daughters Disney movies on the same disc with no problems at all. Plays perfectly on the DVD player. I took the DVD over to my Dad's and put it on his Philips combo VHS/DVD player and it played fine. I also burned a miniDVD on a CD-R and tried it on my player with the same results. I have also tried burning it with Nero. Same problem.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?

I just tried playing the DVD I made on my Playstation 2. It worked flawlessly. That rules out the DVD being the problem. So I have come to the conclusion that either my DVD player is gimped or it has a hard time with small file sizes.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?
