  1. I'm trying to back up a British television series called Bottom.

I keep getting Decrytion problems with Title Set 1, which is only like 30KB of info, but to do a complete disc copy I can't skip through them. What can I do to get a full disk copy? I have to do a full disc copy becasue there are 6 episodes per disc.

    Thanks!

    try doing a forum search
its cover A LOT!!!!! especially lately

    1. ensure you let the dvd load into dvd player
    2. play each chapter for a few seconds
    3. then back up with dvdbackup.

this seems to be the fix for most of these.

otherwise, you can use OSeX to exctract the dvd, it may not happen with that app

  3. Thanks for the respnse Gactica!

Yeah I did run through all the menus and bonus features but it doesn't decrypt this one title set. I'll try it with OseX. Can I rip just the one title set through OseX and add that to my video ts folder I got from DVD Backup rip, or do I need to do the whole rip through OseX.

    Thanks!

But did you run the ENTIRE DVD? as in the movie parts in apple dvd player?

OSeX is a differnet type of ripper. if you rip to VIDEO_TS (DVD FOLDER) you cant choose a particular .vob set that will match up with dvdbackup sets individually.

    rather you choose
    1. dvd image (which will make a mountable image of the dvd
    2. dvd folder (which does a video_ts folder like dvdbackup)

but in doing so it does everything! so no, you cant do what you want. Its not a very long process usually, so just do it all with OSeX and see if you get the same error

  5. OK. I ripped it with OseX and it didi the whole disc. I watched parts of each episode in Apple's DVD player. But I burned it in Toast it failed said something bad sector or something. I backed up 2 different DVD's today with the same media so I know it's not my burner and not the media. Which by the way I have a 1GHZ iMac.

    any idea's on this one??

    Thanks!!

most likely its just a bad disk out of the bunch.
if you buy in bulk or on spindles this is typical

just try another disk, or better yet a dvdrw if you have one.

I would do as Galactica says and try again. One thing to note though, I've had corrupted video problems with OSEx in DVD Folder mode, and it's possible that its error correction and read reliability isn't too hot. I would try OSEx in DVD Image mode (takes about 2-3x longer) and see if the problem persists.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  8. Yeah they are cheap DVD's. $28 for 50 bulk.

The weird think is the disc seems to work OK in my home DVD player. I put it in and went through a few episodes, seems to be fine. Haven't watched the whole disc yet, but appears to be fine. I burned a second copy and got the same error.

Thanks for the help guys. This place rocks!! Has anyone found OseX to rip a complete disc faster than DVDbackup? Seems to be much faster for me.

    Thanks again!
