  1. Dear all,

I am student living away from home and I have a collection of photos and videos I took on holiday, I would like to send home.

My parents own a vcd player I think that can handle VCD 2.0. I was hoping I could send my pictures as high res videos stills and the video at
normal vcd quality, that can be accessed by simple menu system.

However I don't know enough to make such a VCD, I have experimented with a few retail software:

    MemoriesonTV
    Photodex ProShow
    DVD pixplay
    VCD easy
    Ulead DVD PictureShow 2

So, far Ulead and Photodex I found were the best for still but Photodex can't handle videos. Though Ulead can handle both its price of $50 is a bit steep for my student budget. So I guess I am looking for a software less than $30 or preferably free software I could use.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Nigel

VCDEasy can mix video and stills on the same VCD, but the stills has to be in mpeg format. There's a tool for converting ??? to mpg in VCDEasy.

Thanks I have tried VCD easy, but I wasn't too impressed by it GUI, I also unable to create stills with music without using Tmpeg which is a long winded process.

PS all pics are in JPG

    Thanks for the adivce

  4. There is a program called WinOnCD that will do photo album vcd's (with music), as well as a ton of other powerful vcd/svcd projects. It is the best program for doing photo album vcd's that I have come across to date. Good luck
