    Hi!
Can anyone tell me, why TmpgEnc DVD Author won't accept PCM wave files, I extracted with VirtualDub from my mpg files?
Did exactly, what all those tutorials told me to do. (you know: "no compression", "full processing" "44100hz", etc.), but DVD Author keeps telling it is a illegal audio format, although it says beneath, that it does accept PCM.
    I am a bit confused..

    Thanks for any help!

PS: Already tried another program for extraction (GoldWave) -> same result.

    .
DVD requires the audio to be sampled at 48khz, not 44.1.

In vdub, select audio->conversion and select 48khz. Other than that you are doing it all correctly.

    oh!
thanks for the quick reply!! that helped!
anyway, i thought i could fix my audio sync problem by doing that.
but now, the audio is already out of sync when i take a look at the clip in the "cut editor" of tmpgenc DVD Author. Does this necessarily mean that it will be out of sync on the DVD as well or is my computer just too slow/stupid/whatever to manage that?
the audio is not out of sync at the beginning. getting worse to the end.
in contrast to getting audio and video, both from the mpg file, which had the same problem on the DVD but not in the editing mode of the DVD author program.

When I add the mpg file in dvd author the "add clip" window pops up allowing me to choose a different audio source.
When i go on "Chapter Cut Edit" after that and play the clip, the audio gets more and more out of sync to the end of the clip.
You hear the audio, before the video gets to that scene.
