When I finally get around to do video capturing, I'll be transferring a lot of concert videos over. These are generally about two hours long. I was wondering what sort of file size a lossless capture would be (Lossless in audio and video).
Thanks

Huffy Codec is a loseless video codec.
About lossless audio codec... eh.. just use CD Quality 44khz 16-Bit Stereo. doesnt get any better that at =) -
I'd be interested to hear about your progress in putting concerts on VCD as this is something I am about to do.
I have lots of experience putting audio concerts onto CD either from cassette or DAT (or even VHS). Now I want to archive several of my video concerts as well... So needless to say, I'd be interested in hearing about ANYbody's experience in this area.

Thnaks for the info, but I was wondering what the file size will be when I do transfer them.
Thanks -
The file size will depend on the resolution, frame rate, and format you choose. If you want to see what different settings do I've found the easiest way is to run Virtual Dub, change the settings and look at the predicted size (MB/s) in the bottom left.
Huffyuv has a compression ratio of 2~2.5:1 so divide that number by that factor. I normally capture at 480x480, CD audio (16bit 44.1 stero) and 29.97fps in YUY2. IIRC that just over 5mb/s.
I'd like to capture in 720x480, but my cheap-o card can't handle it -

When you capture the files get really big 20-30GB, then if you encode them as standard VCD`s-> 2 hours = 1.2GB.
1 minute with standard VCD mpg = 10MB.
Then you can burn 74 min on a 74min cdr or 80min on a 80min cdr.
