    I have juts made a backup of a region 1 dvd with shrink Nemo and when I play it in the standalone it says "not pal" i have backed up many dvd's in the past including region 1 and never had a problem

    what have I done wrong this time ?

    I am in the UK

    Region 1 disks are normall not Pal, they are NTSC. Maybe you have to change a setting on your DVD player.
