  1. My captures look fine when I'm playing them on my computer(mpeg or from disk), but when I burn them to DVD and play them on my TV I get artifacts that look like wavy horizontal lines when there is fast motion. Is there some sort of setting I can change on my TV or DVD player that can fix this? I have a JVC Progressive scan player.

I had this problem with my Aladdin laserdisc conversion. I was using CCE to encode the MPEG. I found that switching to TMPGENC fixed the problem. I suspect that it has something to do with the way the fields are encoded. In TMPGENC I always set the top field to be encoded first. I'm not sure if this is the exact reason, but it fixed it for me.
