  1. I have been trying to copy a video to mt harddrive, each time i try i get a message saying no capture device installed.

I have been using intervideo recorder, and ulead movie factory.I have a dvd rom as well as a dvd burner. My graphics card is a Ati radeon pro 128 mb.I've installed there updated graphics driver as well as the updated wdm capture driver.

What do i need to do to be able to record a dvd movie to my harddrive?

What are you trying to capture from? A camcorder, tv signal, dvd player, VCR? If it's one of these then you need a capture card. If you're trying to capture from your DVD drive then you've got it all wrong. You're not capturing or recording at all, you just need a ripping program to rip (copy) it to your hard drive. Look in "DVD Rip" for a guide, over there <-<-<-.
