  1. I Thing DVDMaestro reads sequence header wrong?

I got a video stream (done with dvd encryptor) and a audio stream
If I "view" de video file with Power dvd it plays and look good.
Also the aufio file is fine.

When in Import it into DvdMaestro it's only displays 1 minute of video (a waring screen, rating screen met PG codes)

    What can be wrong ??
    regards

    Martin

something is wrong with your mpeg file -- nothing is wrong with maestro

  3. Hi,

I have the same problem with an .m2v file I'm trying to load into DVDMaestro. I've demuxed the dvd with several different progs, but all come out the same. The .m2v is 3.23 GB in size, but after loaded into the Assets Bin of DVDMaestro it is stated that it's only 15 seconds long! The .ac3 and .dts file that were demuxed from the same dvd load perfectly, both at the length of 1h:34m:38s..
I tried exporting the .m2v from DVDMaestro, but, even though it comes out the right size (3.23 GB), it does the same as the original, when loaded.. Is this a fileheader problem and, if so, how do I correct/manipulate this?

Please, I need your help with this, cause I'm really stuck at the moment.

Many greets and thanks in advance,

this is a very simple thing what has happened here and easy to fix ...

many commerical dvd's are made up of more than 1 mpeg stream ..

often the fbi warning or a trailer has been already encoded ..

when the dvd is authored .. these elements are brought together ...

but each has its own timecode -- often starting at zero or 1 hour is very common ..

when you rip it -- you have ripped the whole thing but didnt rip each segment , which in many cases would be hard to do ..

but when you import it into maestro -- it is reading the first segment up to the end code ....

the proper thing would have been -- when encoding such sections, IF they are going in the same title set , would not to put a end code except on the last one -- and also to start time code with offsets (though this isnt really done much because with hardware pro ac3 and mpeg encoders - the audio and video are truly sync'd together via timecode (why that option is built into maestro) ...

BUT -- since the above wasnt done ...

you can try to set maestro time to 0 based instead of assest based ..

it may still show wrong time in asset bin but will , if you scroll thorugh, show the correct time lenth on the timeline ..

OR -- if still an issue ..

run the whole clip through pulldown and select re-write time stamps ...

OR -- cut out the first clip with a mpeg editor .... which btw, you can do right in maestro easy enough ...maestro is an excellent mpeg joiner, ac3 file joiner and mpeg splitter and trimmer ....
