This happend to me many times...
First, don't use TMPGenc for XVID. It is designed for mpeg1 or 2.
Use VirtualDub Mod, it is newer and more realiable than the orginal VirtualDub....
Learn how to use AVIsynth and framserve to VirtualDub. Do not use any of the VirtualDub filters in VirtualDub, but rather use them in AVIsynth (sounds funny, but it is true)..AVIsynth has its own filters as well...
AVIsnyth can do anything TMPGenc can, faster and more stable....It is really the key to the entire problem....
When framserving, make virtualdub use only direct stream copy, becasue AVIsynth is going all the work...
Try that..It is more stable than using TMPGenc for XVID... -
This is what worked for me when converting several Xvid to MPG's.
1. VDub to extract audio only into a WAV file with no compression.
2. VDub to save video (no audio) into a new AVI file.
3. TMPGEnc Plus to encode the two files into a MPG.
4. TMPG DVD Author to compile and write DVD.
I had no problems with audio sync.
Hope this helps. -
