Hi All, I have a pioneer dvd writer, with the latest ASPI Drivers (4.71) installed, as well as the latest Firmware update. At the minute have been playing with Bulkpaq x4 orange dvds and for whatever reason still takes between 45 - 55 minutes to copy a disk as opposed to 15 minutes. Nero is telling me that its writing at 4 speed. I`m running Xp. Any help (in simple English) would be greatfully recieved

Different software/system configurations behave differently. It would be difficult to pick out precisely what is causing your problem. It could be as simple as Nero not being ideal. If u have plenty of processing horsepower and ram, try a different burning program. Is your burner on the same IDE as the HD? If so...it can slow down the transfer of info onto the dvdr. Are you doing anything in the background when yer burning? Does a screensaver come on? Have you tried a different media to see if that helps? It could be anything.

I`ve tried using Stomp as well as different media. I can`t remember if the burner and H/D are on the same channel. I have 2 hard drives and 2 dvd drives, while I was playing with nero cd speed last night discovered it rekons that the ASPI was corrupt, I tried to replace it and it was still corrupt!
    Its doin me head in

You need to uninstall the ASPI driver. Reboot. Install the new Driver. Reboot.

Installing overtop doesn't mean the bad file will be overwritten.

Also, if you are copying on-the-fly (from DVD ROM drive to DVD R drive), it may be your transfer rate isn't good enough and the buffer underrun is preventing the burn failing but still slowing it down. Make sure you have DMA enabled on both drives.
