I am trying to back up a movie which is wider screen then 16:9
It is on the DVD with black bars to make it 16:9. I usually do my DVD back ups XVCD 480 X 480 with TMPGenc. I have no problem with 4:3 or movies that are true 16:9, but Movies that are wider then 16:9 won't come out right unless I encode standard VCD specs. This is not good enough quality for me. I thought I heard of a program which can add extra blacks bars to a video so I could make a Very Wide Screen movie encode as a regular 4:3. Does anybody have any ideas to hlep me.

  2. In Tmpgenc, use Video arrange method of Centre (Keep aspect ratio). If this doesn't work for you try Centre (custom size) and set the numbers appropriatley.
