The only way to "re-use" a CD-R is if nothing was actually written to the disk the first time. Somehow the burning failed before anything was put to disk, perhaps during the calibration of the laser.

well, all the error messages were "no seek complete" and "calibration error"
does this means that when the calibration area is full, it can no longer be used anymore?
thanks a lot. i've got friends that tells me that cdr can be re-writen again, as long as it was never "closed". i knew they were wrong.

Yes it can be used again but you might have trouble getting part or all of it working.

and how can i exactly use it again? i mean this is considering that multisession is not used.
