Whenever I convert an MPEG to another format it analyzes the file before converting. When I convert a movie it takes like 6-9 hours to analyze and convert the whole thing. Is there any way to skip the analzying process so it just starts converting?

Unless you are using max bit rate, VBR will look better. Sure it takes twice as long, but once its done, the final product looks better if you set the avg bitrate to the same CBR bitrate. ie VBR 300min 2000avg 2520max will look better then CBR 2000, file sizes will be the same.

The "analyzing" is the first pass of 2-pass VBR. It can take twice as long as CBR but it gives smaller files, therefore more minutes per disk, while preserving quality. I encode overnight.
