  1. Okay,

I've got a divx that is 24 frames... is this NTSC? should I choose NTSCFilm? (in Tmpgenc)

I've got a PAL (25frames) divx, however my TV is NTSC.. how do I go about converting it.. can I just load the PAL template and it will work on my TV?

I've got Princess Mononoke DVD and want to rip to SVCD... I thought I read that there are special settings you have to use for anime rips (or even cartoons for that matter)... using either TMPGenc, or CCE..

When creating SVCD's or even VCD's.. is there a majority opinion on using CCE or TMPGEnc? Will I notice a difference in quality.. (c'mon ppl.. read my minds.. haha)

Also, if I use CCE, I have to disable audio.. so once i have the video file and extracted audio wav (From VDub), what's the best program to mix them?

Thanks everyone in advance.. hope to get them all answered in one fell swoop..

    Cheers!

  2. Quick Answers:

24 fps is a dumb rip - it's not a standard of anything

you do not have to make a NTSC VCD to watch on a NTSC TV - it will play a PAL VCD just fine

yes sometimes for anime you have to do 2:1 pulldown to avoid stuttering (but research this as I don't usually do anime conversions)

CCE is great - but harder to use - TMPGEnc is my fav because it's more flexible and on 2-pass SVCD there isn't a noticable difference

To multiplex (join the audio and video) use either bbMPEG of TMPGEnc MPEG Tools

    -hope that helps

yea that would work fine - I've used NTSCFilm and PAL for 15fps DivX files - TMPGEnc works it out
