  1. I've been using Memorex's 4x DVD-R's made by CMC Magnetics and have been fairly pleased. I can't say the same for Memorex 2x DVD-R's made by CMC Magnetics. I bought a spindle of 10 and 4 were coasters.

Just looking for the COMMERICAL Brands you buy at Retail Stores

    UPDATE:

I removed the Ritek option from the poll. I hope this clarifies things up a bit. Again, I'm just looking for the commercial brands you would buy at a retail store like Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc.

  2. I'll vote for Taiyo Yuden.
Why aren't the manufacturers listed for this poll? seems pretty useless as it stands, since most choices could mean 2 or more brands of discs.
Some Fuji's are Taiyo Yuden some are Ritek... so how can you even vote?

    Brand doesn't mean a thing.
I use RITEK, OPTODISC, MCC, PVC and MXL media only.

If this is really your question, then listing RITEK in your poll is meaningless since it's a manufacturer not a brand name marketed in the US. As retail brands, TDK and Fujifilm seem to have much better quality standards and warranty compared to other brands, even though almost all brands use multiple OEM sources these days. Taiyo Yuden, like RITEK, is another disc manufacturer and not a brand name.

  8. When Princo's work, they are fine!
The problem is, you get the odd bad batch, they seem to be very sensitive as to how you burn them.
If they are 1x discs, set your program to burn at 1x, not 2 x or MAX.
I have found my Princo problems go away when I do this. They are all working fine since doing this & they're cheap too..
