  1. I know this question has probably been asked 9 million times but I don't see a specific answer. Thank you for typing it out for me again

    1. Which is most widely accepted among DVD players? PCM, AC3, or MP2 sound?

    2. I am using TMPGenc and from what I can see, there is no option to have it encode with PCM sound. The only option it gives you is MPEG Layer II sound, and mentions that you can convert it to PCM using authoring software. That implies that this functionality isnt available via TMPGenc.

    3. Can you give me very clear, step by step instructions on how I can get TMPGenc to encode using PCM sound, or tell me what encoder I should use instead?

    Thanks.

  2. From "DVDR" option of the left side for NTSC:
    Audio:
    Up to 8 audio tracks containing DD (Dolby Digital/AC3), DTS, PCM(uncompressed audio), MPEG-1 Layer2. One audio track must have DD or PCM Audio.
    And for PAL:
    Audio:
    Up to 8 audio tracks containing Dolby Digital, DTS, PCM(uncompressed audio), MPEG-1 Layer2. One audio track must have MPEG-1, DD or PCM Audio.
    TMPGENc by default only has PCM and MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio encoding. If you are using the encoding wizard then look at the first wizard screen at the bottom middle.

  3. I may have a newer version than you do. Im using TMPGenc 2.5. It doesnt have the same things on the first wizard screen. What version are you using?

  5. Perhaps you are unaware.

    PCM=WAV=LPCM=CDaudio

    ...for most practical purposes

    Search Comp PM
    After encoding demux the video and audio streams and remux the video with any format you like (I prefer ac3 because it's somewhat compacter than the other options).Such muxed stream can be authored by IfoEdit and ULEAD MF+AC3 without problems.
