I didn't realise there is so much to this subject and having read all the posts here I haven't found a solution. Perhaps the following can help someone or someone may have the answer...
I am using Ulead VS 5 and the DVD plug in to burn SVCDs, they won't play on the Samsung. It recognises them as Video CD 1.1 (after an age loading) then moves to the first track and displays the times, etc. On play nothing but disk spinning. I am using HP CD-RWs.
I tried a TDK (blue) CD-R and was told no disk.
I then tried Nero and Easy CD creator using the raw AVI file and have the same problem.
It looks like the Samsung but I have done this using a brand new CD-RW in the past. Is it the disks?
The Samsung is also hardware modified for region 1, would this be a factor.
Thanks.

From Samsung...
We can advise that this model is of a single-laser design and is not CD-R compliant. It is possible that different makes/batches of discs may give some success but this cannot be recommended by Samsung.
