  1. Hello, I actually already posted my problem but no one replied, so I am posting it again with more detail this time. If no one still replies, I promise to stop bothering this forum.

Well now, the problem is that my system (windows xp, LiteOn cd-writer, LiteOn cd drive, athlon xp 2500, 512 megs ddr ram) has trouble reading vcds. Either the system stops responding or I get an "invalid ms-dos function" error. I also sometimes get those "...file may be corrupted" errors. I feel it's important to note that while I can't play or copy the files directly from the cds, I can copy them just fine using isobuster and they play fine once copied.

One quirk with this problem is that it only applies to the second file and all succeeding files of the mpegav folder. The first file (usually music01.dat or avseq01.dat) works and plays fine. It's only the later files (usually music02.dat or avseq03.dat, etc) that have the problem. I think I'm missing something from my system that would allow my system to read the file structure in the vcds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Addendum:

I read somewhere that I need a file called scsi1hlp.vxd to read vcds. I do not have this file, or even the folder it's supposed to be in (iosubsys). I am not sure windows xp is even supposed to have this file, though.
