  1. I am newish to DVD backing up and have been given advise by a friend to use DVD shrink. I have been able to backup 99% of my DVD's but have run into a problem with one. When I load up DVD shrink then put a DVD in, the program then Analyzes the film. Half way through analyzing I get an error message which says something like;

    CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) Error. This stops the DVD from being backed up. I am able to rip the DVD using Smartripper so I take it the DVD is OK.

    Could anybody recommend any piece of software that will let me backup the information so all I will then need to do is drag and drop the Video files into Nero to create a DVD Video.

    Cheers

  2. Welcome to the forums, brampton2222.

    A "Cyclic Redundancy Check Error" is usually an indication of the disc being dirty or physically damaged.
    SmartRipper (and DVD Decrypter) is simply better at ripping such discs than DVD Shrink.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "backup the information".
    If you have already ripped the whole DVD with SmartRipper, you have all the required files.
    You can only burn them if they fit on a DVD-R, obviously.
    If they don't, simply use DVD Shrink "Open files", selecting the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file, and do the backup as usual.
