  1. I Have two questions about it:

    1)I am trying to convert some shows I captered in AVI to SVCD (as I just bought my DVD burner). I do first the convertion with TMPENC whcih gives me a MPG file, then I want to burn it with DVD Workshop. But it seems that it need to convert it AGAIN! So one show of 30 mintues I a couple of hours. Is this theway to do it? Or is there a faster way so I donīt have to convert it twice.

    2) Some AVI when I try to convert them with TMPGENC donīt seem to have an audio file. So I canīt convert them to VCD/SVCD. How can I solve them so I can few them on my homeplayer.

    Thx,

  2. Are you trying to make an SVCD or DVD? they are not the same thing, so a SVCD would have to be converted to a valid DVD format.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

  3. Correct, i am trying to convert the AVI files into a DVD-R. but I thought that MPEG-2 would be the same for SVCD or DVD.
    If that would be the problem, what would be the best and fastest way to convert AVI to DVD?

    thx,
    johny

    Nope, look in the "What is" sections on the upper left of this page. They are both mpeg2 but the resolutions and the audio types are different. Just use a DVD template in TMPGEnc and you'll be OK.

    Better yet, look in the guides for avi to DVD.

  5. I used in TMPGENC the option/template DVD and then the options as it comes in the program. But that gave me as a result two files.
    What do I have to do with those files? Neither Nero or InstantCD/DVD can burn them.....

    Any push in the right direction?
