Plays in black and white, not region problem

I have been using Nero ultra express v.6 to copy 4.7GB dvds to 4.7GB DVD-R discs. I have been doing this by choosing to burn DVD files and then copying the video_ts and audio_ts folders into nero then burning them.

On my multi-region DVD player the copied disc plays in black and white but on my mates multi region it plays in colour!!!
Could this be an incompatible TV causing this or something else?

As you rightly guessed, your tv is probably not multi-standard (PAL/NTSC).

thanks for your help, would I use TMPEnc to change the DVD from NTSC to PAL? how is it possible to do this if I do not need to shrink the size of the DVD?

Or you could try & set your Dvd player to output RGB then it should play in colour.

Try your Dvd players set-up menu it’s usually under picture settings choose Video out you should now see the option for VIDEO - S-VIDEO- RGB.
