  1. Okay I have an AVI file I am converting to DVD. I want to know how I can get my AVI file that is 576x240 resolution to a compliant 16x9 with widescreen letterboxing. I want a true widescreen, it seems whenever I mess with it I can't get that. To test my theory I put in a widescreen movie from my dvd collection and can notice the difference. If I can't do that then I want to make a Fullscreen that is non squished. If anyone can help me with this I'd appreciate it. Either way I would like to know to make my resolution or change it in the future if need be to make a fullscreen and or widescreen that is correct ratio.

You may be confusing resolution (576x240) with aspect ratio (4x3 and 16x9). I don't know what software you are using or your conversion method. If you use TMPGenc then use a DVD template to give you the correct DVD resolution, select 1:1 for source aspect ratio and full screen (keep aspect ratio) for video arrange method.

Oh.... and you might want to pick one of the guides and just follow that.
